This morning was Luc's first test in Hapkido. I went along to capture the moment with my camera and to be supportive. We walked to the Hapkido studio in the pouring rain. it did not make for a pleasant walk, as I have no water repellant shoes, so my feet were drenched. There was one other foreigner testing today, Lee, who is the foreign teacher manager of MoonKkang branches outside of Daegu. Luc was testing with a bunch of really young kids and there was one other who was a little older. Unfortunately, all the kids got to test in groups of three, except for Lucas. They kept looking at each other to see if what they were doing was right, and Lucas never had that. That's okay though, Lucas did great being in the spotlight all by himself with everyone watching :D Luc did kicks, punches, take downs...it was quite well done. He's been practicing on me for the past while because he's been really nervous about today. There were these guys who were using nunchucks and it was awesome. Lee did them too. That's something that Lucas, I think, is looking forward to. They didn't award belts today though, which makes me sad, I would have liked to see that. He'll be getting it on Monday, though he's not sure if he passed (but I'm sure he did). Then we had to walk back in the rain, which decided to come down harder, making even bigger puddles in my shoes. I wonder how long it's going to take for them to dry out in this humidity. I'm going to have no shoes by the end of the rainy season!!
Tomorrow is the baseball tourney, though we're not sure if it's still going to be on because of the weather. The field is going to be a mudbath, as it is all dirt. nasty. Who knows what is going to happen.
I've been making myself sick. Now I have a cold. I haven't been sleeping much and I've been eating really unhealthy. I know I should do better, but I've been lazy. It's so much easier to eat junk food than to find something decently healthy. And the temperature outside has either been nasty rain or nasty humidity and heat. So I do nothing.

love you!
MOM
PS. Luc you look great in your hapkido outfit!!
Thanks! It will look better with a yellow belt on monday!
Ok guys Luc says it seems like people aren't posting many comments...so here I go! I know how it is..when you have all these things you want to say..but then feels like nobody is even reading them. But really lots of people read, but don't seem to comment. I think they are scared ;)
I haven't been able to read the blog much due to crappy internet in Zambia. Right now I am in the Dean of the School of Medecine's office..and she has GREAT internet. I have been on it for hours taking advantage of it. Should probably get off now.
Keep in touch..and don't let those monsoons get ya down. I will be feelin the same when the rains come here too...then you will have to pick me up!
The rains almost spoiled our baseball tournament. But they stopped just in time. The field was terrible, but it was fun playing mud ball! Maybe I should blog about that....
Luc
yes you should blog about that Lucas! I like muddy stories! and congrats on your Hapkido-ing amazing-ness. I'm into fake words today, apparently. :)

Know I have been bad lately Luc & Erin not keeping up with the blogging. We start our day by checking for updates every morning. Now I have to remember to respond to both blogs. Glad Jessica is blogging too. My excuse is "The Fenton Family Reunion" held last weekend past. We had a wonderful time & the weather was very hot (Lilloet was 40 degrees) broke a record for that date. I was thrilled that all the Willys were there including Mark's ex and Stephanie & Alyssa. The kids & Dawn were staying with us for 4 days so we were kept busy. Regan did a video so Mom is going to get copies. My sister Phyllis and brothers Jim & Johnsey did a little presentation on family history of our parents (pictures & a few stories) starting in Ireland, we could have told more but did not want to make it too lengthy. Mom is going to copy my album & all the written articles that have been done. Wish you could have been there!!! (we are thankful we had as many as we did) The kids spent a lot of time floating down the river. All the Willys camped overnight on the Sat. Grandad and I and Uncle Johnsey & Shirley stayed with "Susan". She also lives in Maple Ridge. No more tent camping for me, remember Marsahll Lake when I couldn't get up off the floor! So only if there is a bed (off the floor) would I consider. Anyway just getting too old for some & other things as well. Ha Ha! Now! I am getting ready for "Crescent Beach" - 10 days of dog sitting. That will be part of our summer vacation. We also are planning to go to Oregon for Lisa (Uncle Jim & Auntie Marion's Grand-daughter's Wedding. (she is also a teacher along with her Mother & Father - Keith & Corrine). Hopefully Mom will send you some pictures of the weekend. Don't forget to fly your flag on Canada Day. We have ours up. Learned something new on your last blog when I found out they were action pictures, sometimes I amaze my self. Guess I could ramble for every. Hope it stops raining soon, it has finally happened in Vancouver. You make our day with so many interesting things to share. Love you both & Stay Safe & Heathly. LOve from Nannie & Grandad xxx ooo
Sounds like you guys had a great time at the reunion! I would have loved to have been there. Erin and I have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us with birthday's and Canada/Independance day and a Mud Festival in two weeks. Hopefully we find time to blog!
Happy Canada Day Luc & Erin (more to follow) Love from Nannie & Grandad xxx ooo. Sending you something in the mail not edible. Are you ready for more Popcorn???
Happy Canada Day Erin and Luc! Just returned from the trailer where we laid back for a couple days. Erin, you missed a fabulous thunderstorm and hailstorm...just your kind! It hit just as Nana, Grandpa and Aunty Janet arrived for dinner. Hope you two drank that Molson Canadian that Kenna and Chris sent you...a great reminder of home!
Hey Luc....you look fierce!
My husband Joe did hapkido many years ago in North Vancouver. He kept it up even after we moved to Squamish, but he gave it up after a while. (Driving home late at night to Squamish after class got to be too much.) Too bad though, as he was only one belt away from a black one.
Keep it up!
